Alex Taylor
With Friends & Neighbors
Capricorn SD860 (1971)
Alex Taylor was the oldest of the five Taylor siblings in the family that also produced James, Kate, Livingston, and Hugh, all of whom are recording musicians. Alex Taylor was invited to record on the Capricorn label around the time Livingston was making his second album, Liv, for the label. With Friends and Neighbors was an altogether different album from those of any of his siblings. Alex had a slightly deeper and more resonant voice than either Livingston or James, and his approach was more obviously blues-based.
