Get it straight, again
In issue #85 Craig Harris calls the Philadelphia Folk Festival, at 38 years, the oldest in the U. S. In issue #86 Kate Early claims that title for the University of Chicago Folk Festival, which began in 1961.
Allow me to offer another candidate. The Florida Folk Festival was first held in May 1952 at the Stephen Foster State Folk Culture Center, White Springs, Florida. It has been presented at that same site every year since. The 48th will take place May 26, 27 and 28, 2000.
