String Letter gives value for your money in these informative and idea- packed sets of guitar lessons. They aren't aimed precisely at one level of player, though — advanced beginner would probably be the best description of the short instruction pieces Beginning Blues Soloing and Arppegios and Melodies, but Learning to Transpose might be more difficult without more experience with the instrument. These short pieces, taught by experienced players including David Hamburger and Janet Smith, are really more of a jumping off place for suggesting new ideas or approaches than they are detailed instruction, and as that they, and the music example included in CD and through tab and notation, could prove inspirational to players at many levels. - Kerry Dexter (Tallahassee, FL)
